Boston Terriers are the best because whether you are single, married with no kids, or married with 5 kids, Boston Terriers get along great with adults and children of all ages.  A Boston Terrier will be happy in an apartment with a single person or in a large house with many people. They are extremely loving and loyal dogs; you won't find a mean bone in their body. They love to sunbathe, run, and eat! They also love to chew, so it is a good idea to have bones for them to chew on. Boston Terriers are lively, highly intelligent and they love people!! They are low maintenance dogs that can be happy just watching tv with their owner. They also love other animals and in general are very loving, wonderful dogs!!

The Boston Terrier can also be referred to as the Boston Bull or the Boston Bull Terrier.  In 1865 the wealthy people of Boston decided to breed an Englsih Bull Terrier and the now extinct Enlgish White Terrier. The offspring of these two types of dogs were bred further with the French Bulldog and what came about was the Boston Terrier we now know today. The breed was recognized by the AKC in 1893. Recently Boston Terriers are becoming more popular as television and print dogs and can be seen in commercials and print ads.

Weight: 10-25 lbs. (Small-Medium-Large, weight classes)

Face: Short wide muzzle, large wide eyes set far apart, and short erect ears. Boston terriers ears are naturally erect and do not have to be artifially docked like some other breeds.

Body: Compact, Good muscle mass

Tail: Naturally short, not docked

Hair: Short (sheds). Weekly brushing will minimize shedding

Colors: Black/White, Brindle/White, Brown/White (very rare)

Life Expectancy: 15 yrs.

Tempermant: Boston terriers get along great with adults, children, and other animals. Very loyal dogs.
